St. Andrews Apartment Complex – Stamford, Connecticut
Premier Engineering Consultants, LLC was the primary structural engineer for the design of this 4 story ultra-modern apartment complex. Scope included the entire structural design of the new
development. This project was completed in 2011 and construction was completed in 2012.
Premier Engineering Consultants was retained as the primary structural engineer by the architect. Premier Engineering staff was completely responsible for all the structural design and drafting related to this project. We managed other sub-consultants (geotechnical engineer and roof truss manufacturer) involved in this project, reviewed shop drawings, and calculations to ensure adequacy and conformance. This complex has child care facility, pharmacy, mini-clinic and administrative offices. There is also a gymnasium parking facility at grade level. The building units are one and two bedroom units. There are also some one-bedroom units with den and special two bedroom units. On the ground floor, there are laundry facilities. The primary structural system consists of steel members (frames, beams columns, and braces on the 1st story) and wood members on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th stories. The lateral system consists of diaphragms, shear walls, steel braced frames and steel moment frames.
